Overview and mission

Mott Respiratory Care first opened its doors in 1969 as an  adjunct to the developing adult Respiratory Care needs. Today, Mott Respiratory Care has a staff consisting of 50 therapist and 10 technicians all dedicated to providing the optimum in respiratory support of our neonatal, infant, and pediatric patients and families. Our skilled staff supports a variety of internal and external functions which include; administration of respiratory support therapies and agents, clinical research, patient and family education including cardiopulmonary resuscitation training and asthma education, community outreach including education seminars and Trails Edge camp.

Trail’s Edge camp is for ventilator dependent children and is staffed by volunteers of the University of Michigan Health System and affiliated groups.

We are proud to offer the best in respiratory support of the pediatric population in the state. We maintain an active participation with manufacturers and research centers to incorporate state-of-the-art respiratory care services to those patients who need them. This work, its quality and integrity, is a direct reflection of the excellence and pride exhibited by all members of our dedicated staff.
